Chad Kennedy

This was a production of the second year Theatre Studies students of Christ University in Bengaluru/Bangalore, India featuring an all-female cast. We kept Arthur Kopit’s traditional setting of a mental health facility but made it more specific by using an art therapy room for the gathering. This inspired actors to make unique character expressions through artwork in real time, while underscoring the playwright’s examples of people constructing delusions to avoid the truth. Costumes were designed as if the patients accessorized their hospital attire with additional garments made from bed sheets, curtains, and art supplies.
